Union staff says goodbye to assistant director of operations

The Sacramento State community got together to say goodbye to Don Tucker who is leaving his job as the assistant director of operations of the University Union after 22 years.
Director of the Union Leslie Davis said she would always remember Tucker as the man who was helpful to her over the years.
"Don has always been a rock for me. Someone to talk to, to vent to," Davis said, asking Tucker if he would stay if she grabbed his leg.
Bill Olmsted, the program advisor of the Union, said Tucker has always done such a good job.
"He is nice to everyone, so it makes the rest of us look bad," Olmsted said. "Seriously, every time I have ever had a question or needed help, Don has always had an answer."
Steve Forseth, the manager of Custodial Services, said that he was very sad to see his old friend leave.
"Over the years we have been replacing the old forest with new growth, and Don has always shaded us and been there for all of us, and we will miss you," Forseth said.
"I am so happy that you got this new opportunity, but so sad that Sac State is going to lose you," said Kem Gravenberg, coordinator of Management Services.
Tucker said that he was very thankful for all of the kind words.
"You have all really been too kind to me," Tucker said. "I really feel like all I have done is just get out of the way and let my staff work."
Tucker said since he is leaving, it made him think of a James Taylor song.
"The secret to life is the passage of time, and the passage of time here has been just wonderful," Tucker said.
