Midterms are in full effect, your current job is switching your hours from part time to full time and when was the last time you sat down to have a meal?

The semester is stressful to say the least and sometimes you just want to blow off class, go home and take a nap. Before you do that, be sure to check out Mellow Me Out Day Spa located on the first floor of the University Union.

Many students are unaware of the amenities Mellow Me Out has to offer. Mellow Me Out actually has three locations including the one on Sacramento State University's campus.

Referred to as the "express spa," Mellow Me Out offers hair salon services including hair cut, design and color. Manager, Victoria Yamamoto also encourages customers to bring their own hair products in.

"If I use one product that they don't want on their hair, if you don't like it, bring in your own products." Yamamoto said.

Michelle Lockhart, cosmetologist, favorite aspect of working at Mellow Me Out is doing hair.

"I professionalize in color, that's what I love to do." Lockhart said.

Lockhart also enjoys doing nail art and specializes in doing her designs by hand. No airbrushing here.

If you've been holding off that eyebrow wax until all your papers are finished, fear not because Mellow Me Out has got you covered. They offer a variety of waxing treatments including lip, chin and brow waxing as well as what is called "woo woo" waxing which covers the bikini area.

The prices are a tad bit higher than you would expect especially if you are including a tip, but you have to look at it from the perspective of convenience. Having a day spa on campus is convenient and helpful for the student on the go. Table massages are also offered for very reasonable prices. A 30 minute massage will only run you $35.

What many students do not know or seem to forget are the free chair massages Mellow Me Out provides every semester. Each student at Sac State is obligated to three free chair massages per semester. It's not a table massage, but free is free and you will be surprised how amazing 15 minute massage can feel after back-to-back classes. It is definitely the pick me up you need and deserve. Book them at the Student Health Center and prepare to relax!

Alisha Jacobs, cosmetologist, says that students can opt to combine two of the massages.

"You can combine two of them to make it a half hour," Jacobs said.

And if you are not into strange people rubbing on your back (and believe me, who is?), you can opt for the hand and foot rescue which are sensibly priced at $20 for a foot rescue and $10 for a hand rescue. In addition to the hand and foot rescue, Mellow Me Out can also keep your fingernails and toenails looking just right with manicures and pedicures. All of this right at your fingertips. Unfortunately, Mellow Me Out does not offer full sets or fills for acrylic or fiberglass nails. It's all natural here, baby!

If you are planning to take advantage of the services Mellow Me Out has to offer try to catch them early in the week.

"Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I'd say are the busiest," Lockhart said. "Most of the time we're pretty busy."
