ASI 2008-09 budget approved

The ASI Board unanimously approved the budget for the 2008-09 school year that was presented by Tim Snyder.

The Board has been discussing the budget since Snyder first presented a preliminary draft to the board and general public at the ASI board meeting on April 16.

Snyder said the budget has to be approved by Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez prior to finalization.

Vision for student leadership center approved

ASI approved legislation today in support of a vision for a student leadership center at Sac State that will help students build leadership skills.

ASI President Christina Romero presented the legislation to begin the process of researching a student leadership center and said her idea does not have a concrete direction. Romero's legislation said that the center would provide resources and information on campus leadership opportunities and becoming a leader.

Prior to the legislation vote, Romero stressed the importance of the legislation.

"This would be a legacy for us to lead," Romero said. "This would be a really big accomplishment or vision that we would have set."
