Were you one of those kids who was jealous of friends that had trampolines in their backyards? Or have a super protective parent that wouldn't even let you within a mile of a trampoline, for fear that you could break your neck?

Well it's time to get that trampoline fix with a visit to Sky Zone Recreational Center in Rocklin.

There are two courts that are wall to wall trampolines, which is a lot better than the one trampoline in a backyard. There are a couple of activities available at Sky Zone, one of them being 3-D dodge ball.

"We have hosted many tournaments and events for fraternities, sororities and other college-based student groups," Barclay Poole, Marketing Director for Sky Zone said.

Matt Lambeth, who is General Manager of Sky Zone in Rocklin, said that there are pickup dodge ball games that take place daily, on the hour.

"You pay for an hour of jumping and can either do open jump or join in a dodge ball game," Lambeth said. About once a month there are dodge ball tournaments, depending on how many people will be participating.

Sky Zone is also a great place to get an intense workout.

"SkyRobics is a highly effective workout, incorporating almost every aspect of Sky Zone's patented, all-trampoline, 3-dimensional playing court," Poole added.

He also said that it is not uncommon for someone to burn 1000 calories in a 45-minute class, but this varies based on the individual.

"That sounds like a fun way to get a work out," business major Cristina Perfino said.

Perhaps you are looking for something fun and G-rated to do on a Saturday night. Sky Zone has you covered with Sky Jam, which is two hours of jumping to music and having a couple of slices of pizza afterwards. Sky Jam is every Saturday night at 10 to midnight. Fifteen dollars gets you shoe rental and open jump for those 16 and older.

There is also open jump, which is available daily.

Sky Zone has two rooms that are wall to wall trampolines, and $12 gets you an hour of jump time. The $12 price tag is $10 for jumping and $2 for shoe rental, as said on the web site for Sky Zone. There are special shoes that are required to jump, and the shoes can either be rented or purchased. If your feet are too small or too big to fit Sky Zone's shoes, one must jump barefoot.

So, why the special shoes for Sky Zone?

"They add traction and keep our courts clean," Lambeth explained. "The shoes provide more support for jumping on the wall trampolines, and soles go up the sides to provide support."

How should someone dress when going to Sky Zone?

"Just wear loose fitting athletic clothes," Lambeth said. "We discourage jeans or khakis."

The last thing that you'll need to jump at Sky Zone is a signed waiver, that will be stored in their system for two years. Sky Zone is a safe place to enjoy yourself, though.

"Our patented, all-trampoline, walled playing fields, and safety netting placed strategically around and under the courts, help insure that no one falls off or through the playing surface," Poole said. "For added safety we have trained court monitors."
