Sports: 2009 NFL Mock Draft: April 4

1. Detroit Lions - Mathew Stafford (QB-Georgia) - The Lions need everything. They may as well begin its new chapter by drafting a franchise quarterback. Stafford is the most talented quarterback in this year's draft.
2. ST. Louis Rams - Jason Smith (OT-Baylor) - Smith has emerged as the best offensive tackle in this year's class. ST. Louis needs to somehow replace the departed Orlando Pace.
3. Kansas City Chiefs - Aaron Curry (LB-Wake Forest) - Curry is the most talented athlete in the draft. The Chiefs need to improve defensively.
4. Seattle Seahawks - Eugene Monroe (OT-Virginia) - Now that the Seattle has improved its receiving corps with the signing of T.J. Houshmandzadeh, The Seahawks can go in another direction with this pick.
5. Cleveland Browns - Everette Brown (DE-Florida State) - Brown is a versatile player who can play many positions in Cleveland.
6. Cincinnati Bengals - B.J. Raji (DT-Boston College) - Most teams will be afraid to draft Raji after hearing he failed a drug test during the Combine. Not the Bengals, they seem to love signing players with questionable pasts.
7. Oakland Raiders - Michael Crabtree (WR-Texas Tech) - Raider Nation may be hearing Russell to Crabtree a lot in '09.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jeremy Macklin (WR-Missouri) - Jacksonville needs another offensive threat to compliment running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
9. Green Bay Packers - Tyson Jackson (DE-LSU) - Jackson is quickly moving up on experts' big board.
10. San Francisco 49ers - Aaron Maybin (DE-Penn State) - This pick would give the 49ers one of the most talented defenses in the NFL.
11. Buffalo Bills - Brian Orakpo - (DE-Texas) - Buffalo needs somebody to help take the pressure off Aaron Schobel on the defensive line.
12. Denver Broncos - Mark Sanchez (QB-USC) - The Broncos are now scrambling to find a replacement for Jay Cutler.
13. Washington Redskins - Andre Smith (OT-Alabama) - Although Smith's character has been questioned he is still a top-10 talent.
14. New Orleans Saints - Chris Wells (RB-Ohio State) - Reggie Bush is not an every-down running back. The Saints need someone like Wells to lighten the load.
15. Houston Texans - Vontae Davis (CB-Illinois) - Davis is arguably the best cornerback in this year's draft.
16. San Diego Chargers - Malcolm Jenkins (CB-Ohio State) - Jenkins' poor performance at the combine has really hurt his draft stock.
17. New York Jets - Josh Freeman (QB-Kansas State) - Freeman is the most NFL-ready quarterback in this year's quarterback-class.
18. Denver Broncos - Michael Oher (OT-Ole Miss) - Denver now must build an offensive line that can protect the quarterback whoever that may be.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Rey Maualuga (LB-USC) - New head coach Raheem Morris must find a replacement for Derrick Brooks on defense.
20. Detroit Lions - Brian Cushing (LB-USC) - The Lions hope to draft a leader on defense as well as offense in the first round.
21. Philadelphia Eagles - Knowshown Moreno (RB-Georgia) - With the loss of Correll Buckhalter to free agency Moreno would be a great addition to Philadelphia's backfield.
22. Minnesota Vikings - Darius Heyward-Bey (WR-Maryland) - Bey is the diamond in the rough of the 2009 NFL draft.
23. New England Patriots - Jamon Meredith (OT-South Carolina) - Meredith had a great pro day.
24. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Pettigrew (TE-Oklahoma State) - Pettigrew's draft stock was hurt after the combine. He still could be a big weapon for Matt Ryan.
25. Miami Dolphins - Hakeem Nicks (WR-North Carolina) - The Dolphins need a go-to receiver.
26. Baltimore Ravens - Clay Matthews (LB-USC) - Baltimore needs to get someone who can replace Bart Scott.
27. Indianapolis Colts - Peria Jerry (DT-Ole Miss) - The Colts need a run-stopper.
28. Philadelphia Eagles - Louis Delmas (S-W. Michigan) - Philadelphia must somehow find a replacement for Brian Dawkins.
29. New York Giants - Percy Harvin (WR-Florida) - Harvin will help ease the pain of losing wide receivers Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer.
30. Tennessee Titans - James Laurinaitis (LB-Ohio State) - The Titans are pretty solid on defense but you take someone as talented as Laurinaitis when you can.
31. Arizona Cardinals - Eben Britton (OT-Arizona) - Arizona must be able to protect Kurt Warner if they are going to succeed in 2009.
32 Pittsburgh Steelers - Robert Ayers (DE-Tennessee) - Ayers would be a great addition to an already stellar defense.

With all respect, are you out of your freaking mind? Denver needs to build on their offensive line? Cutler was only sacked 11 times last year!! Do your homework pal! Also, Denver is not trading for a quarterback. (Continued…)

BJ Raji has denied failing the pre-draft drug test. He and his agent have gone to great lengths to state for the record that Raji did not receive written notice that he had failed the NFL's drug test as required under NFL drug testing policy. (Continued…)

As far as the Lions picking a QB 1st, I say no. Get the O-Line to protect any of the QB's they settle on for 2009, Then Shore up the Defense (Mid. LB or DE, theb some secondary help, and worry about the QB either in the latter Rounds or next year. (Continued…)

Seriously? Do you understand that DEFENSE was the Broncos problem last year? The offensive line was the strength of the team. Sanchez is tempting if he lasts that long, but Broncos need DEFENSIVE help in the worst way. (Continued…)
