MOVIES: "Fast & Furious"

A few weeks ago I saw "Fast & Furious" which is the fourth installment in "The Fast and The Furious" movies and while overall I enjoyed the movie, there were a few things about the movie that disappointed me. But before I get into why I didn't like the ending, let me highlight some of the amazing parts of the movie.

The opening scene where "Dominic Toretto" and his gang hijack a truck carrying "liquid gold" down in Brazil left me speechless thinking to myself, "If this is what the first scene is like I can only image what kind of ride the rest of the movie will take me on!"

Warning: Spoiler Alert! "Letty," "Dominic's" girlfriend gets murdered like 15 minutes into the movie, which I didn't like. In the first movie "Letty" was so badass and I thought she would be able to bring more of her edgy badness to this fourth one. But no, they kill her off.

More muscle cars were seen in this movie than in past movies which I liked because a lot of people complained seeing too many "rice rockets" when the third one, "Tokyo Drift," came out, which was horrible, by the way.

My favorite car scene in the movie is the 2009 Subaru STI that ultimately meets its demise just like the majority of the cars in this movie. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I work at a Subaru dealership, but that car is just amazing to me. I think I shed a tear when it gets crashed too.

Now I'm going to be completely cliché and say that another reason why I liked the movie was because Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were back together in the movie and lets face it, they're both hot in their own way. The girls in the movie were pretty as well, but I definitely think the director and producers of the movie were trying to please the ladies with this one.

The disappointing part for me was at the end when Dominic gets put in jail and is seen riding on a bus, along with all the other soon-to-be inmates, out in the middle of the desert heading to prison. All that can be seen are three sports cars racing up behind the bus, driving is Dominic's sister Mia, the hot man himself Paul Walker, and two of the gang's friends. We assume they are going to hijack the bus and get Dominic out, but then the movie ends. Obviously a very open-ending which I never like because I always want to know what's going to happen next right then and there.

So overall, this movie was a lot better than the previous two movies, but I wouldn't say it was better than the original. Very few sequels surpass the original, but that's for another blog.

This shallow and poorly written article did nothing in analyzing the new "The Fast and the Furious" movie except tell readers how it was going to end. (Continued…)
